The Philips BDP3000 Blu-ray Player has also been designed to play media on CD Audio discs, MP3 and WMA CDs and JPG images. The front of the BDP3000 is very minimalistic with just the four buttons: Power, Eject, Play and Pause and uses a tray-loading mechanism that makes very little noise yet feels sturdy at the same time.

The BDP-3000 comes with fantastic connectivity including an HDMI port allowing you to connect it easily to any HD-Ready TV, a composite video port along with stereo audio RCA inputs. There's also a digital coaxial socket with support for Dolby 7.1 surround plus a set of component-out ports for those with high-definition displays that support them.

This fantastic 1080p Blu-ray Player handles automatic video upscaling which enhances DVDs and home movies at near high definition. If viewing a slideshow of images the picture quality on the BDP3000 is superb and if there were any MP3 files on the same disc, you can set them to play in the background while you browsing your images.

The Philips BDP3000 also gives you five picture settings, Standard, Vivid, Cool, Action and Animation but you can use your customisable picture settings on our TV if you would prefer. The BDP3000 includes a Night Mode for the audio output, which subdues sudden noisy bits in action films, and there is even a screensaver to customise if you have too much time on your hands and even comes with parental controls that allow you to restrict access to your kids.
