"Ive never had a problem with any Phillips products and the low priced BDP3000 convinced me to try again. I was not let down, picture quality is awesome and loading times arent too bad either, the upscaler did a slightly better job than my Phillips DVD Player which is impressive as that upscales extremely well. The Philips BDP3000 is a solid product that's easy to use and has an impressive picture. The BDP-3000 is the perfect player for anyone who wants to enter the world of Blu Ray without having to pay the earth"

"I agree with all the positive things which people have said about the Philips BDP3000. I have one thing to share which might be of use to other potential purchasers which is that the zoom feature is very good indeed at increasing the picture size of feature films on DVD in various widescreen formats from the 60s. This was not possible on my earlier players without distorting body shapes etc so for the first time since I bought the BDP-3000 I am now able to see South Pacific in its full glory taking up the whole screen rather than half of it. The BDP3000 is very good at producing natural skin tones in colour films and black and white films also look crisp. CDs sound first rate too"

"The picture quality of the BDP3000 is superb. You really can't go wrong at this price and I honestly can't see how much better the more expensive models can be. I have seen the sony blu ray entry player, the Philips is a bit cheaper, the picture quality is the same. I was very impressed by the upscale of old ordinary dvd's. Less impressed by the huge writing that appears on the screen when you skip chapters! If you are looking for some fancy machine to remember your name, make your tea, then this is not it. If you simply want a machine that shows off the best of blu ray then the Philips BDP3000 does it"
